The Garden State Home Loans Team Tries Their Hand at Axe Throwing

On Wednesday, September 12th, the Garden State Home Loans staff took on Bury the Hatchet. Bury the Hatchet is a fun-filled group activity, that allows you to throw axes at a target! After the workday, the staff took off to Bury the Hatchet. After a safety talk and a few practice throws, we started our competition. Each person went head-to-head with another person on staff, throwing ten throws at the target for an attempt to get one, two, three, four, or six points. This gave us our base points to create a bracket to find out who would be the ultimate winner. Needless to say, we all had a great time.

If you are interested in taking on the axe throwing challenge, we highly recommend it. There are many locations all over the map! Look it up and see where the closest place to where you live is. Still aren’t convinced? Here are some great things to come out of axe throwing.

  1. Team building

Just like the Garden State Home Loans team, axe throwing is a great team building exercise. It’s a new challenge that can get everyone engaged. Not to mention the fun behind the group tournament to discover who the ultimate axe throwing champion in your office is.

  1. A fun workout

Not every bit of cardio needs to be in the gym. Each axe weighs about 3.5 pounds, so it’s a great way to get that heart rate pumping!

  1. Stress relief

What’s not relieving about throwing an axe at a target? Get out all that pent-up stress by aiming right for the bullseye!

  1. Do it for the ‘gram

If for nothing else, axe throwing makes for a great Instagram photo!

News provided by Garden State Home Loans, Inc. NMLS#473163

CHERRY HILL, New Jersey, June 20th, 2017 – After receiving over 350 applications, Cherry Hill-based mortgage lender Garden State Home Loans accepted 10 college students for participation in its new summer internship program. Both graduate and undergraduate, GSHL’s interns come from a variety of colleges and universities, such as Rutgers, Temple, Rowan, and Cornell. The interns also come from a wide array of different academic backgrounds, from digital marketing and psychology to finance and business management.

As part of the 10-week summer program, interns will engage with a variety of subjects related to marketing within the mortgage industry, gaining first-hand experience with content marketing techniques, customer relationship management (CRM) software, and digital marketing strategy. Working in a fast-paced, competitive environment, the interns will be exposed to GSHL’s marketing strategy and encouraged to think of improvements to this strategy, as well as any new ideas. The experienced staff at GSHL will also play an important, supportive role in making sure that the summer interns feel comfortable within the office and appropriately challenged throughout the program.

Anthony Casa (President), Justin DeJoseph (CEO), and Steve Weitzman (Marketing Director) hope to give the 10 college students a rewarding and productive summer experience, in contrast to many internship programs that task students with manual jobs like delivering mail or making copies. Each day of the internship program is split into two parts, with the first part of the day involving staff-supported instruction and the second part involving team-based, competitive work on various projects. Some of the projects already completed by the three intern teams include a new ‘About Us’ page for GSHL’s website and content for the lender’s blog. Both the interns themselves and the team at GSHL are excited to continue working together on exciting and meaningful projects for the remainder of the summer.

Garden State Home Loans Opens Up Mortgage Rate Pricing Engine to the Public, Shakes Up Mortgage Industry Again

live mortgage rates

CHERRY HILL, New Jersey, May 22nd, 2017 – For the third time this year, Garden State Home Loans, Inc. (GSHL) shakes up the mortgage industry. Garden State Home Loans redefined the way borrowers research and access mortgage rates. Unlike other companies in the mortgage industry, Garden State Home Loans now allows borrowers to search mortgage rates using GSHL’s real-time pricing engine.

When the time comes to interact with mortgage companies to purchase a new mortgage or refinance a current mortgage, people are hesitant to provide contact information due to the legitimate concerns that mortgage companies won’t stop calling or emailing. Garden State Home Loans decided to put this stigma to bed once and for all, and now allows for borrowers to see actual mortgage rates, updated every day, without the worry of frequent phone calls and emails.

“We don’t want to be grouped in with relentless mortgage companies that take your information, sell it, or call you ten times every day,” says Justin DeJoseph, CEO at Garden State Home Loans. “We’ve been successful because of the phenomenal customer experience we offer, and we’re continuing to build that legacy by allowing the public to access our pricing engine.”

Garden State Home Loans Launches Live Mortgage Rates App for iPhone & Android Users

mortgage rates app

CHERRY HILL, New Jersey, June 20th, 2017 – Exclusive to NJ, CT, PA, NY, & FL home buyers, Garden State Home Loans, Inc. launched a mortgage rates app for iPhone and Android users. This new app provides mortgage rates in real-time, using GSHL’s exclusive mortgage rates table.

The launch of this new app makes buyers eligible to get updated mortgage rates at anytime, and from anywhere there is cellular service or wifi, and the approach works in a fashion that will shake up the future of mortgage rate research.

This initiative is just another piece of GSHL’s technology stack aimed at providing borrowers with the tools they actually want, and the resources they actually need. “Other mortgage lenders and brokers created a stigma by calling potential borrowers day-in and day-out,” says Justin DeJoseph, CEO. “We set ourselves aside from the rest by focusing on the needs and wants of borrowers, and letting the competition continue the dated practice of hounding borrowers left and right instead of providing them with mortgage rates right away.”

As GSHL expands their footprint state-by-state, now doing business in NJ, CT, PA, NY, & FL, their internal IT and marketing teams work side-by-side to continuously develop the tools and resources that are genuinely useful to customers and prospective borrowers.

Garden State Home Loans Opens New Avenue for Millennials to Buy Homes with Only 1% Down

1% down payment mortgage

CHERRY HILL, New Jersey, July 31st, 2017 – Exclusive to NJ, CT, FL & PA home buyers, Garden State Home Loans, Inc. launched a 1% down payment program for buyers looking to purchase a new home.

The launch of this new program makes buyers eligible to own the home of their dreams, and the approach works in a fashion that will shake up the future of mortgages and homeownership. This option is available to all qualified first-time home buyers, and buyers that haven’t purchased in the last three years.

This option is exclusively made available for purchase mortgages applied to properties that will be used as a primary residence. The credit score required for this program is a hard 720 minimum, and the debt-to-income ratio (DTI) must not be in excess of 43%. Additionally, the program is available with no mortgage insurance (PMI). The maximum loan amount for this payment option is $424,100.

The way it works is simple. When a borrower puts down 1% of the property’s purchase price, the lender contributes an additional 2% towards the down payment. This puts the buyer in a position to have 3% equity in the property at the time of closing.

As the economy continues to grow and millennials break into the purchase vertical of homeownership, this exclusive 1% down option opens up new avenues of exploration for qualified buyers. The opportunities are immensely broadened for any first-time buyer with great credit and a low DTI.
